What I Do For Fun - When Not Making Blankets
Some of you have some interesting hobbies or past-times when you aren’t making blankets for Project Linus…
I thought it would be fun to share some of those things with the rest of us…
To get us started I am going to brag about:
Lynn D. She is a volunteer at the Museum of Flight in Port Townsend and for her birthday this year she got to take flight 3 different times. The first time in a plane where she was way in front by herself… the second time she was next to the Pilot and got to handle the controls and the third time she was sitting in back… All planes were pretty spectacular and if you would like more details come see Lynn at our October Gather on the 21st to get more details.

Marilyn W. is teaching many of us to use the Long Arm Machine at Headquarters but in her spare time she is part of KOP CTA, teaches sewing to Kids at the Viking Store for a whole week each summer, a member of the Sun Bonnet Sues, Sews for CASA and she also makes blankets for the New Housing Program in Port Angeles. You really need to get more details from her… so this summer she entered the cutest Dress you ever saw and received many ribbons for it. Hopefully she will still have it and show it off at the October Gather.
One other person I want to brag about this month…
Sharon T. – She has been making quilt kits for me and between her and Joanne I just might become a quilter (As long as someone else does the cutting!) Sharon makes blankets with a group of ladies at her church to go to the Navajo Kids. When she isn’t sewing you will sometimes find her in a heated round of ping pong at the Sequim Shipley Center. Did you know that Sharon is a Twin… are there any other twins in our group?
Please email me with fun things that you are involved in and include a picture if you like… we really would like to get to know you and share with you the great things in life that make us so Special.
HUGs and Stitches,
Phyllis
